Ahhh finally Rome. Speaking of Rome, there is a Trevi Fountain, the super famous fountain in the world that I'd love very much to visit. And it was because of this fountain that we got separated from our group haha. More to that later.
Well, we arrived and checked in to our… camping hotel. Yep. We were camping for two days in Rome. By camping it was more to a caravan camping. It was something new, different and fun. One car or caravan has two single bed with a super small bathroom. Outside of our "room", there was a picnic table and benches.
After settling in, we went to the city for a 2.5 hours walking tour around Rome. We were waiting for our local tour leader at the bottom of the Spanish Steps, in the Piazza di Spagna.
~ Spanish Steps. Super crowded ~
Local tour leader came and we started our tour. Everything went along okay until we reached the Trevi Fountain. Me and hubby were sooo busy taking pictures of the beautiful and extravagant fountain that we lost track of time and surrounding. We didn't aware of the rest of the group leaving the spot and moved on. We took video, asked another tourist to take some photos of us, and even just sat there admiring the fountain and atmosphere, forgot for a moment that we were in a tour LOL. To our defense, the fountain was teeming with people. Like you had to fight your way to be near the fountain. It was crazy.
Lucky for us, we brought a map with the highlighted tourist attractions, so we did our own walking tour, relax and more to our pace. Though not without getting lost every now and then. But the good thing was every time we felt like stopping, we stopped. Even had our evening cappuccino and a pizza in a secluded, little restaurant. So I guess a blessing in disguise?

Back at the hotel, we were invited to a toga party. As the name suggests, everyone must wear a toga!
